Planning and Planting for Cool Season Edible Gardens

The cooler season is actually the easiest time of year to grow vegetables in Southern California. It’s also the best time to choose and plant your fruit trees. This class will introduce the best local vegetable and bare-root fruit tree choices and top planting and growing methods for productive and delicious home harvests. Participants will gain an understanding of: -Planning and preparing for the Fall/Winter Garden for in-ground, raised beds, and container soils -Seasonal vegetable varieties for seeds and starter plants, with information on sources -Environmentally friendly fertilizers, pest management, and weed control -Selecting and planting container and bare root fruit trees
