Rebates are available to help your clients fund irrigation system improvements and turf replacement projects.

The Metropolitan Water District in partnership with local water suppliers fund rebates for residential and commercial sites, including rebates for weather-based irrigation controllers, rotating sprinkler nozzles, turf replacement, and rain barrels and cisterns. Specific requirements must be met to qualify for each program, and rebate amounts vary by location. Full details and rebate applications are at socalwatersmart.com.

Rebates can be significant. For example, commercial addresses in Montclair, Chino, Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, and Fontana can qualify for a rebate of $3 per square foot for up to 50,000 square feet of turf removal and replacement with a qualifying waterwise landscape. Residential addresses for these cities qualify for a minimum rebate of $3 per square foot up to 5,000 square feet.

Commercial addresses in these cities can qualify for a rebate of $35 per station to install weather-based irrigation controllers, and residential addresses can qualify for a rebate of $160 per controller.

Note: Rebates over $600 will be taxed.
