Facilities, event, and program cancellations due to COVID-19. Join us for an online workshop. See below.
In consideration of guidelines recently published by the California Department of Public Health to protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, all in-person Waterwise Community Center and Chino Basin Water Conservation District events, workshops, and mulch and compost giveaways are cancelled until further notice. Our building, gardens, and restrooms are currently closed until further notice.
We will be closely monitoring the situation, and will resume regular programming as soon as possible.
Thank you for your interest in our programs and in contributing to a waterwise community. We look forward to seeing you at our events once programming is resumed.
LANDSCAPE & GARDENING WORKSHOPS LEARN HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN AT THE WATERWISE COMMUNITY CENTER
The Waterwise Community Center is one of the leading sources for home landscaping and gardening education in Southern California. Join us for no-cost classes presented by expert instructors and offered throughout the year.
We teach the knowledge and techniques necessary for successfully designing, installing, and maintaining beautiful and resource-conserving waterwise landscapes, whether you prefer to do-it-yourself or learn more in preparation for working with professionals.
All our residential landscaping classes are presented in a way that no previous experience is required, but we often hear from experienced gardeners and professionals that they learned new and useful information.
Each class focuses on both presenting information and building skills so that participants leave empowered to do this in the real world.
Weather permitting, most classes feature a portion held outdoors in our Demonstration Garden, so please bring anything you will need to be comfortable depending on the season (e.g. hat, sunglasses, water bottle, sunblock, jacket).
