Mr. Hofer has been a Director for the District since first being appointed in-lieu of election in May, 1996, and subsequently won public election to the Board of Directors in 1998.  Shortly thereafter, Mr. Hofer was elected from among his peers to the Board position of President, a position which he held until 2008, when he became Vice President of the Board.  Mr. Hofer is presently on the District's Advertising Committee and for several years he was an active member of the District's Education, Personnel, and Finance Committees. 

Mr. Hofer is a farmer who resides and works in Ontario at Hofer Ranch, the family homestead since 1882.  He is very active in community affairs and has served on numerous boards including those of OPARC, the Ontario City Library Board of Trustees, Foothill Family Shelter, and the Chaffey Trust.
